Diplomas and cake

Students at Embassy CES Boston recently had a party to celebrate completing their Embassy Diploma of English course. A cake was made specially for the occasion and much fun was had by all.

 

Teachers' conference in the UK

Every year, teachers from Embassy CES UK and our sister school, Bellerbys college, come together for a conference to discuss new innovations and best practice in teaching.

This year it was Cambridge's turn to host. A very productive couple of days were held at New Hall College, one of Cambridge's modern university campuses. The theme of the conference was e-learning and technology in the classroom: seminars, discussions and lectures covered topics such as blogging, podcasts, interactive whiteboards, online training, and much more.

An Encounter with Picasso

The Embassy CES school in Brisbane recently held a story telling competition for students which was organised by the Brisbane library. The winner, Chen Pei Ling (Penny) from Taiwan, who is currently studying English on the Academic Year Abroad course, won a $50 gift voucher for the most interesting story. To celebrate a guest story teller, Joan Bailey, entertained the 70 or so students from Embassy CES and Martin College with her energetic story telling skills.

Penny's story tells of a visit to Paris during which she goes to the Picasso Museum and meets to an old man with paint covered hands who mysteriously vanishes not long after. Who was he?

Much Ado About Nothing

EMBASSY CES OXFORD DRAMA COURSE

This is a good way to improve your English because you can enjoy and learn it at the same time.

The play that we're going to do is called Much Ado About Nothing. It's a play that was written by William Shakespeare, the most famous man in English literature (and in the world), especially for his famous phrase "To be or not to be".

We are inviting you to try to join this course because we're sure that you would like it. Also, we're inviting you to this comedy play about love on the 12th and 13th of March. It's going to be in the common room (Boswells House, Broad Street, Oxford) at 7 o'clock and for more information you can ask at the school reception. The cost is £3 with a free drink. We hope that you will like the play that we've prepared with love for you!
