Students from Embassy CES Seattle recently held a candelight vigil to commemorate the deaths of five young women who died in a store fire in Lhasa. Three of the women were Han Chinese and one was Tibetan. The purpose of the vigil was to honor the women and also to ask for a stop to the violence in Tibet. They were joined by Jeffrey Bialy, Center Director of the Seattle school.

The Oxford Embassy CES drama course performed 'Much Ado About Nothing' on the 12th & 13th March, after almost six weeks of rehearsals.
We turned the student common room into a theatre for two evenings, and around 70 students and teachers came to watch and to enjoy a wine before the show.
'Much Ado About Nothing' is a romantic comedy by Shakespeare, so there were lots of laughs from the audience (especially the teachers, who understood all the jokes!)
The students on the drama course had a fantastic time. They had worked so hard on their fluency and pronunciation, with amazing results. Now they are really confident about speaking English, too!
Recently a number of students and staff from the Embassy CES Gold Coast school in Surfer's Paradise visited Q1, the tallest residential building in the world and a very popular local attraction. After taking quite a few photos from the QDeck on the 78th floor of the great views of Surfer's Paradise and the surrounding area, they enjoyed fish and chips at a food court popular with students opposite the school.

On March 14, 2008 we held our Diploma graduation in the chapel of a church near Pacific Lutheran University. We had eleven diploma graduates – four DIP Advanced students and seven DIP High-Intermediate students. Four of the students were DIP years. After the graduates had all given their speeches we had a student talent show in which some of our students showed us what they could do.
