Peter Madams writes: G&D are an Oxford institution. There are three G&D 'Ice Cream Cafés' in the city.
On Friday 18th July, we had a very special visit from their mascot, the G&Ds Cow! The Social team organised a great party in the common room, with music, socialising and, of course, as much ice-cream as we could eat.
40 students came to the party and everyone had a brilliant time. The ice-cream was delicious and we all stayed chatting long after the cow had gone home, tired out from our party!
Hello, my name is Ehsan Mahrouz and I'm from Iran - this summer I'll be working with my two friends, Bijan and Parsa (pictured with me - I'm on the right) at Embassy Oxford as social activity workers.
I've just finished my two-year A'level course and I am quite happy to have my summer without any worries about next year. Having been in Bellerbys College [which shares the building with Embassy] for two years, I found the atmosphere very dynamic and vibrant with the flow of students coming from all over the world.
This triggered me to look for a job in the school in order to experience what I think is exciting. My job involves guiding the new students so they can get to know the City and also to help them on excursions which are specially arranged for them. Hopefully they'll enjoy their time more and we should enjoy it too.
I have never had a job in the UK. Therefore, this job should help me with not only my English , which is vital for my university life, but also with my CV that will be really important for my prospective career plans.
