Mission Bay
Somehow I can easily spare time to enjoy life in New Zealand these days. This time, Mission Bay!
I hadn't realized that the summer is getting over and now I think I have to go to the beach before it's too late.
Actually, I made an arrangement with my flatmate to go to Mission Bay last Saturday, 20th of March, but the weather of last week was not good so we were worried a lot. Fortunately, the very day we're going to the beach was fantastic.
We headed for Britomart Station to take a bus with delight. D13, it's the bus stop where you can take a bus which goes to Mission Bay. 750,755,756,757,767,769 - you can also take all these buses.
I can't remember how much the bus fare was, but you can get a discount if you show the driver your student ID, maybe everybody knows about this. We waited for the bus about 10 minutes and got on. This is the picture of the sea I took when I was on the bus.
The colour of the sky and the sea was really beautiful blue so they matched very well and the shapes of the clouds made me fascinated with them. Oh, I also didn't miss the Sky Tower, you can find it in the picture. I confirmed again that I can see the tower everywhere in Auckland. The bus ran for about 15 minutes and the driver told us when to get off.
Mission Bay was a little different from what I had expected. It was not that large and there was a small park with a fountain. Some kids were plaing in the fountain. It looked interesting. We arrived at 12:10, got hungry and had lunch first. So many birds were getting closer to us to pick up some food.
I was just wondering how they knew that we would eat something. Anyway they were cute.
And then we walked on the beach and took some pictures.
>Some people were sunbathing, sitting talking to each other and running with their shirts off to show off their body. My friend brought a swimsuit but it was too cold to go into the water. She asked me not to put her pictures up so I'd better not. ^^
We enjoyed the peace of the afternoon while listening to music and watching people enjoying their weekend. There were not many things to do without swimming so we came back early. Beautiful scenery, many people who looked peaceful, blue sea and cute birds made me feel relaxed and good.
Here is an extra picture of Careesa.
My friend and I were having a rest on the seat in the Britomart Station when she suddenly appeared and danced in front of us.
We talked a little and I learned that she wanted to be a hip-hop singer & dancer. ^^ I wished her luck and I'm sure she would be good becuase she looked so talented. She's only 5 and dances well. It was a lot pleasure to meet her.
On the way back home, I dropped by at Mrs HIGGINS to eat some cookies.
I heard of this store from my classmate Alice. The cookies were good and a perfect finish to the short journey.
Where should I go next weekend? Please let me know! I'd love to go on a short trip again.
Cheers!
Oh yes, Mission Bay, what a great place to visit, I have been there many times and always enjoyed it, never been on the bus though, Mmmmmm might try that.
